James Barton 8/26/1923 - 6/18/2008 St. Louis, MO
Barton, James Samuel, 84, of Tulsa, OK and St. Louis, MO, entered into rest on June 18, 2008. Jim was born August 26, 1923 in Forestburg, Alberta, Canada. He now joins his beloved wife of 51 years, Sadie Kirkham Barton whom he has missed with all his heart and soul. A good father, friend, and teacher, he is survived by his loving children; Jacqueline Skett of Edmonton, Alberta; Greg Barton of Knoxville, TN; Maureen Barton of Wichita, KS; Michael Barton of St. Louis, MO; and seven grandchildren Della, Liam, Forrest, Jarod, Melanie, Peter, and Elizabeth. He belonged to that fortunate group of individuals that truly enjoyed his work and took great satisfaction in solving the challenges it presented. A graduate of the University of Alberta and Registered Professional Engineer, he worked in nineteen countries during his career as an Engineering Consultant for the pipeline industry and traveled to many more. He retired in 1987 from his position as Senior Project Manager with Williams Brothers Engineering Company of Tulsa, OK. Donations in honor of his life and desire to help others may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Boy Scouts of America, or a charity of one's choice.
